Guidelines and Etiquette

It is best to practice on an empty stomach as the body functions with a lot more ease if it is not busy digesting food. Drinking lots of water throughout the day aids in the body's flexibility.

Please make an effort to arrive on time as our yoga classes are structured with a warm-up, postures, counter-postures and a final relaxation. Come 10 minutes early to allow yourself time to get set-up.

It is best to wear comfortable loose clothing, as you will be moving around and in many different positions.  To get the proper benefits of the class choose you will want to be in bare feet. You will need to bring bottled water and a blanket or mat.

Please throw away any gum you may be chewing and remove any hats you may be wearing before the Class begins. Please do not leave your glasses, watches or jewellery out in the open where it may be stepped on inadvertently by the instructor or classmates. It is best to put personal items away in your bag you bring with you.

Please leave any footwear and heavy apparel in the designated areas during Class. Please try to bring only the necessary items to Class to keep it as uncluttered as possible.

Please do only the postures that feel comfortable for you. Always be mindful when moving in and out of a posture. If you feel any pain or discomfort, stop immediately.

Please inform the instructor, if you are, or think you may be pregnant.

If you have health issues, t is always best to check with your doctor before commencing any exercise program.

If you are arriving late, please wait until after the beginning centering and meditation is done to minimize the disturbance to the Class.

If you must leave class early, please do a few minutes of your own Savasana (corpse pose) so that you have had a balanced class. Please leave before the rest of the class begins Savasana so as not to disrupt their rest time.

Again, it is important to bring your own mat or blanket for sanitary and health reasons.

Please turn off all cellular phones and pagers before beginning the Class.
